Gmail is Down

Gmail stopped responding after I sent a message to a colleague. Maybe I killed it?

This isn't really newsworthy or interesting. I just thought I'd post this as an experiment to see how many other people are experiencing the same thing.

[Update: things are back to normal. Based on the comments below and the spike in Gmail related search traffic we received from Google news (which was not down), it looks like I wasn't the only person having problems earlier today. Thanks to the Google representative who followed up with me on this.]

yeah i'm having the same issues... yesterday it was apparently a problem with Comcast in the Northeast. today, who knows what's up -- but I can't access gmail from any servers here or from an account I have in California.

Google Mail for Domains is down for me, too.

This used to happen fairly regularly during the day - it's gotten a lot better recently.

Yeah, i have had gmail cut out on me, about once a day where i will have to refresh a page a few times and it seems like the connection is gone but then after a moment it comes back

Newsbreak:
Friday is 'Count-all-the-money-you-made-off-your-google-shares-this-week'
Google employees have no time to look into problems with gmail which has been down for several hours.

has been down for me for over 8 hours!

my other gmail accounts work fine!

this sucks as i needed to get a name and contact info from the damn program!

My gmail is still down. I got an official response from google though:
