Ed Kohler
Being crunch time for holiday shopping, let's discuss the hot products for 2006. What are the must have products this year? Any fun stocking stuffers?

My brother stood in line for hours in the cold for a Wii, and while I originally thought that he was crazy... I am actually glad he did. Not being a gamer of any sort, Wii won me over by it's intuitive nature. (Although, if you ask my Mom, creating her Mii is the best part of all!). Anyway, you asked for stocking stuffers, and I think I have a good one: 20Q from Radica:. Kind of an unassuming little thing... It comes in a bunch of colors, fits in your hand and you can turn the sound off if you like. The cool thing about it is that it is the games of 20 questions with out the annoying relatives always picking something like Willoughby Weaving, trying to stump you. To the contrary, *you* are the one who picks the subject, and 20Q is trying to guess your answer. Honestly this gadget is so good at it, the first few times I tried it out, I thought that maybe it had a voice recognition device in it or something, because I could not believe it was as accurate as it is. (Although my going theory is that it just reads minds) Yes, it will always ask you 20 questions, even if it has already figured out what you are thinking... although it won't tell you until after the 20. And yes, it is possible to stump it… although not often. You can give it a try it out virtually at www.20q.net, but once you get hooked, you are going to want one of these little guys in your stocking.

20Q is a lot of fun. I've found that I stump myself when I use the thing. For example, if I make it try to guess "giraffe" and it asks me, "does it have stripes?" I'll say Yes rather than no because all I know about giraffes is that they have long necks. Somehow, it will realize this and still come to the right conclusion, so I think you're right about the mind reading.
