Ben Zuning at the Zune Lounge
Technology Evangelist Team

Before today, we hadn't seen a Zune anywhere but at the end of the aisle at Target. Now we can add Microsoft's Zune Lounge to our Zune sighting list.

Ben received a demo on how to squirt a song from on Zune to the another from a friendly Zuner so Zune #2 could listen to Zune #1's song for three plays or three days.

Stay tuned for a video demoing the music transfer along with Ben's take on the Zune now that he's had the gadget explained to him by a Zuner.

Pathetic. The Zune is such a failure, people are amazed to see more than one of them in the same state.

the zune is a remarkable device, i own one, and in case you havent read, its capabilities are just being unlocked, this seemingly meaningless transfer that you see here will change the ipod, oh wait it already has, as seen in the iphone, go buy a zune before you criticize it

Zune--The Bad:

The largest issue I have with the Zune at this moment in time is that what program would you assume you use to manage the content? Oh yeah. Windows Media Player, the flagship media program for MS. Beep. Wrong.

Also, can I add the music I bought from the Microsoft Music site and put it on my Zune? Oh yeah. No again.

Zune--The Good:

My buddy has an Xbox 360 and a Windows Media XP Machine -- They use the Zune program on the windows machine to "talk" and stream content over to the Xbox to play Television or Music from the computer through the Livingroom media setup that has the Xbox 360 hooked up to it. (although note you cannot stream Torrents or Divx media from the PC to the Xbox ... it all has to be the windows media format.

Zune--My Conclusion:

It was a failed launch and as a previous poster said, we havn't even seen it's potential yet as new content will be unlocked as time goes by. I hate the DRM scheme they are using and will unlikley get a Zune but as far as gadgets go there is a lot of potential "coolness" there, it just needs to be unlocked.

David, if the capabilities are just being unlocked, why not wait until more capabilities ARE unlocked before buying a Zune? Surely, the 2nd or 3rd generation Zunes will be better than Microsoft's first attempt in many ways.
