How to Be a Lazy Facebook User
Ed Kohler
I'm a Facebook user, but I'm not the kind of user who goes through withdrawal symptoms if I haven't checked my wall in the past few hours. In fact, I can go days or weeks without logging in. Yes at the same time, it's nice to be somewhat active and have at least something fresh posted to my profile so I don't look like a TOTAL Facebook loser.

With that in mind, here are my top-3 lazy Facebook user tips:

1. Use Facebook Mobile so you can approve new friends by simply replying to notices with the letter, 'a'.

2. Set up Notes to pull posts from your personal blog so you don't have to duplicate content.

3. When you post photos, post photos with a LOT of people in them and tag all of them so your friends can all look at themselves.

Fresh content for friends and fast responses to friend requests without much effort.

What would you add to the list?

How about the tip: "Just don't use facebook"? The only reason I currently have one is because my freshmen RHET 1101 class requires it for certain assignments that could be done by more intelligent means. (Email anyone?).

I hate the claim that "it helps me keep in touch with friends!" I can name at least 4 other ways to keep in touch that have existed since before myspace and facebook (listed chronologically): Snail-mail (ouch), phone (or cellphone/txting if you must), email, AIM (or other IM client).

Now can we get on with REAL LIFE?
