Shutting Things Down at CES
Technology Evangelist Team

CES has come to a close, but stay tuned for more videos shot over the last few days. We highly recommend subscribing to our RSS feed and/or one of our video RSS feeds so you can pull down high-resolution versions of the upcoming stories using Democracy Player, iTunes, Fireant, or other video aggregators.

So, what does closing down CES look like? It's kind of a mess. But, before the booths start coming down wall after wall of HDTVs have to be turned off. And it turns out this is harder than one might imagine. Think about this: you have a remote aimed at an individual plasma on the wall and you click the power button. It turns off, but so to a few around it, then you move down a bit to do the same, starting a game of HDTV on/off whack-a-mole.

We discovered this simple and elegant solution on the automotive floor that puts the problem to rest. The paper towel tube turns the remote into a rifle. A great solution short of using a laser remote.
