Ed Kohler: Ed Kohler, Technology Evangelist. Now, let me tell about my day,
today so far, the alarm goes off 4 AM, mind you this is
the day after St. Patrick’s Day, so went to bed of course in the same day I
got up.
So, around a good two hours sleep, made my way to Minneapolis
Airport, hopped a plane from there to Phoenix, from Phoenix to San Jose, got
in around 10 AM, a little early to check in the hotel room, so
I went to the only logical place. I went to Frys
and I bought this camera. So now I'm
messing around with it, trying to get a feel for how it works and thought it
would be fun to, at least try to imitate Mr. Loren Feldman of 1938 Media. So,
this my shot at that and Loren keep up the great work, I like your style, I
like that you really give your opinion, you are not holding back, its
very New York of you. That’s not how we act in the Midwest, but you
got have your style, we'll have ours, we will be more passive, aggressive and
hide behind our blogs.
So, I'm out at the Video On the Net conference, on the net
conference Jeff Pulvers's conference and hope to learn some things, meet some
people and see what’s going on. So, if you have a questions for me and you
want to find out what’s going on with this conference, post them on the blog,
send me an email, you could twitter me, lot of things you can do to get in
touch with me and try to get some questions answered and figure out where do
this video on the net things going.
So, take care for now and love to hear from you.

Loren Feldman:
Hi, Loren Feldman, 1938 Media. If I look like crap, it's because I
am exhausted after a long weekend that included meeting, Hugh MacLeod-Gaping
Void, the most brilliant cartoonist on the web. Really interesting crazy
story, I have always-always admired Hugh’s work. I think he is the one of the
brightest guys around, he manages to say more in less, in a more clever way
than most everybody on the web with their long horrible drawn out blog posts.
Really into him, didn’t know what to expect, a few weeks ago, he wrote
something really nice about my work and I was expecting like, an
intelligence kind of guy, in a way I know a little bit about his background,
met him at two booths at a blogger meet-up and it was crazy. He was
a really nice, like regular guy, my kind of guy. Beer out of a
bottle, jeans and a sweat shirt, smart knows he's smart,
curses, cool, big personality, I was blown away because I asked him “While you
are in town and I missed the video in New York, do you want to do something
real quick” and “just be my pleasure give it to you for your site” and he said
“sure” and what he said blew me away.
So, that’s my story, Hugh MacLeod, gapingvoid.com.
Loren Feldman: This is Loren Feldman from 1938 Media, I am honored and
pleasured to be here with the Gaping Void himself, Hugh MacLeod in NewYork..
Hugh MacLeod: And my name is Hugh MacLeod and I am very honored to be here
with Loren Feldman who is actually quite a big hero of mine, because I think
Loren has pioneered the work of a web 2.0 mom-and-pop business model and I
think what he is doing, sorry, what are you doing, whatever, I think what he
is doing is really great and I think, you know, I don't know how many
clients you have. But, I think you are the future, its not about us
clever thinkers working for Microsoft or work for Jason Jalicanas , love the
guy, its mom-and-pop. How do we make web 2.0 mom-and-pop and you are a
pioneer, God Bless You and make it happen and you don’t have to be really
disappointed, but so great to meet you.
Loren Feldman: So great to meet you, I am blown away, I can’t believe it, I am
humbled, have fun in New York.
Hugh MacLeod: I am humbled by you man, you are the guy, you are the pioneer to
making like web 2.0 mom-and-pop. The most guys I know is all about how we
fucking flip to Google, fucking Yahoo or silicon valley or venture
capitolists, you are making web 2.0 accessible to like guys in New
Jersey who own a butcher shop or furniture shop and that’s what
really important, its not about the millionaire friends we have or the silicon
valley, its mom-and-pop man, that’s what web 2.0 is all about and you are the
pioneer.
Loren Feldman: Thank you, brother.
Hugh MacLeod: More so than me.
Loren Feldman: Oh man thank you. You have a safe trip home.
Hugh MacLeod: Yeah, you too, God bless you.
