Microsoft Exchange Daylight Savings Nightmare
I followed the Microsoft prescription for fixing Exchange for the Daylight Savings Time change. The VM, on installation, asked me to set a new password and then confirm it. But after entering the new password in setup, I couldn't then log-in to the actual application because it said the password was bad. After a DAY on the phone to Microsoft they finally remembered the password is automatically set to <pass@word1> NO MATTER WHAT YOU ENTERED IN THE SETUP.
It didn't used to be this way before Microsoft IMPROVED the process. If you Google <pass@word +DST> and look at the 2/9/2007 cached version of the fix download page the line "The local administrator password is pass@word1." is there. But this line was dropped in the 3/2/2007 version that is referenced in the current Microsoft articles.
What sloppy work from Redmond. And time is running out......
You wouldn't want any of the bad guys to know your password is now pass@word1, would you? This is M$ security!
Hey, the listen to this article link does not work with Firefox running on Linux. How about supporting an open standard so everyone can enjoy?
sonwon, thanks for bringing that to our attention. That "listen to this article" link provides a machine read version of the article, so assuming you read the article, you haven't missed much. We've been debating the value of having that feature at all, so we'll add a vote from you to the "get rid of it" column.

Well at least they updated the document with the password info now - sorry you had to be the one who *helped* them realize this needed to be noted.
