I was so proud that I beat our own in-house Web 2.0 guru
Ed to
Twitter. I didn't really have to explain Twitter to Ed, he just got it. Now my family and friends, they don't seem to get it. "Why would I want to let everyone know where I am" they ask. To anyone who is not a savvy Web 2.0 geek it's really hard to explain, I just could not explain it in a way that they would understand. Until now.
For those not in the know,
twittervision has entered the scene. It's a really great Google mashup of the latest tweets from around the world. It's a very powerful way to show off how Twitter makes the world a bit smaller and easier to communicate in.
TwitterMap.com is a very powerful and visual way to show off exactly what Twitter means to the world. In addition to the bigger world map you can enter your exact area and see those users around you who have been tweeting.
I'm so happy! I'm starting to not only understand this Web 2.0 social networking thing, but I'm starting to really understand and enjoy it. This is great stuff! It's very cool being able to extend my conversations to Leo Laporte, Robert Scoble, Cali Lewis and others.

Great post, Ben. Watching Twittervision conversations taking place in real time is a great way to see how easy and fun it is to keep in touch with friends and colleagues wherever they may be in real time.
And it cracked me up last night when Cariann twittered the car accident you too were on before you.
