If Imus was on YouTube ANYONE could fire him
Robert X. Cringely

This just in from Australia, where a teenager posed as ABC (an Australian TV network) and caused YouTube to withdraw hundreds of videos:

"A 15-year-old boy from Perth has apologised for pretending to be from ABC Television and having hundreds of video clips removed from the Youtube website. The boy gave Youtube a signed form saying he represented the ABC and asked for the clips to be removed.

The segments were mainly from The Chaser's War on Everything and were put on Youtube by other users.

The head of ABC-TV comedy, Courtney Gibson, says it is not clear why the boy impersonated an ABC employee and had the clips removed, but she is glad he has now apologised.  "Everyone does dumb stuff when they are 15," she said. "But what was of concern to us was the fact that Youtube was sending copy right infringement notices to people who have been uploading Chaser clips to Youtube, threatening to shut down their access to Youtube if they persist that's what was worrying to us."
