As I write this my laptop is telling me that my 60 Giga Byte hard drive is almost full and I must do something about it. This is serious because my laptop and my smart phone are my inseparable companions. They are my constant companions and connect me with the rest of the world through Wi-Fi and a Sprint data card.

We have covered the basics of why I like the Treo 700p but now it's time to tell you what I don't like about it. No digital device is perfect, and while the Treo line is the best of the best, I still have a few items I wish Palm would include:

I am not a huge fan of the Palm OS. I think its multitasking is pitiful, the GUI is not sexy, and in general it feels like its stuck in the late 90s. I have been waiting for a Windows Mobile or some other device to dethrone my Treo 650. There are two devices that caught my eye, the Audiovox/HTC PPC 6700 and the Treo 700w. While I could compare features and specs side by side, that’s boring. Instead I’ll talk about both devices being used in the real world.

Typically scanners are very boring. Put the image in, hit pre-scan, crop, scan again and save. Yawn. I honestly never thought I would be excited to write a review of any scanner, but the Fujitsu Scan Snap line is nothing short of amazing. I’ll be the first to say that it’s not for everyone, but the Fujitsu S500 is a fantastic scanner that most should at least look at.

What if you could get paid to share your broadband Internet connection? Sound too good to be true? It may be, but that hasn't stopped WiFiTastic from launching a new broadband sharing platform that pays you cash for turning your home or business broadband connection into a commercial WiFi hotspot.

The following is a list of current technology stories that I find interesting but haven't had a chance to write about yet. We have covered distributing HD on the Internet and some of the challenges there, now lets cover actually acquiring HD for online distribution. The following is a list of equipment I am proposing for purchase by Technology Evangelist. Nothing is set in stone, so we may go down a completely different path, but the list below seems pretty darn good if you're in the market to acquire content in HD.

Being a
technoholic,
I had to have the Xbox 360 when it came out. After
weeks and weeks and weeks of hunting around trying to find an Xbox 360, I
finally found one. Hooray! I wanted an Xbox 360 Premium, but all I
could find was a core system. The big difference between the two is that
the premium includes a 20GB hard drive, a wireless controller, and the analog
component HD cables.

Technology Evangelist is kicking off a new monthly feature today. We are publishing a list of the best products on the market today for mobile professionals. The list consists of products that are actually available on the market today. Not things we dream about, but things that can make you more efficient if you added them to your technology portfolio today.

I have been asked many times what the best laptop is. My answer is
actually not a laptop at all, rather, a TabletPC. Being a huge fan of
Apple Computer, this surprises many, but Apple has no product that can begin
to compare to the Fujitsu 4020 TabNote.

Microsoft?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s Xbox 360 and Sony?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s Playstation 3 are about more than just games. A lot more. I just recently got my Xbox 360 and have been playing around with some fun stuff involving media downloads. This whole experience makes me think about the future of television.

Time to evangelize a bit and correct some mistakes from the original Panasonic HVX200 review.

We at Technology Evangelist have been trying to decide on what HD camera to buy. Do we go with a pro grade format such as DVCPRO HD, HDCam or D5 HD (uh, probably not D5 HD), do we go with a consumer grade format such as HDV or one of those nifty cameras that records direct to MPEG 4 HD?

Last week was MacWorld week and the big deal was Steve Jobs demonstrating that in fact you can now get a Mac and be part of the Intel clan. Big deal.

Given that you are currently reading a blog covering technology, it's probably safe to assume that you are a fairly technical person. You're probably the kind of person other people turn to for advice on technology purchases. Assuming that's the case, we have something in common, and I'd like some feedback from you on how you deal with one particularly vexing form of technical advice: recommending computers for parents.

The Technology Evangelist crew has wrapped up shooting coverage from the CES Show floor today, and is now editing and rendering the footage. Here are a few highlights from today in old-fashioned text and images to wet your appetite.
The show keeps getting better and better. This is the second day of the 2006 Consumer Electronics show, and with it our second video update is now available. We have interesting conversations with Sanyo on their 720p handheld cameracorder, talk...

While there are a number of candidates who may be identified as the creator of the first major digital event, none in my mind rises to the level of Herman Hollerith (1860-1929).

I have been a Treo user since the Handspring Treo 300 first came out. Moved to the Treo 600 right when it became available, then the 650 once again right away. I love the ability to use the entire smartphone...

I live in an apartment complex. All around me I have 2.4GHz phones and wireless interference that breaks just about any WiFi base station I try to use. I went through Linksys, Apple, Netgear and even a Parkervision base station...
